Traditional Okinawan Karate is a fun safe martial arts school serving Morris and Passaic County since 2005. Our school teaches Isshin Ryu Karate, a traditional Okinawan martial arts style. Our emphasis is on learning, having fun and getting fit. Students learn traditional kata, self-defense techniques and karate fundamentals. We also teach many grappling, throwing and joint techniques from Judo, Aikido and Jujitsu. Higher-ranking students also attend advanced Kobudo - or weapons classes - at no additional charge. In addition to regular classes, Traditional Okinawan Karate students can attend a fun kids summer camp, an adult retreat and regular seminars with internationally-known instructors. We also do community outreach including anti-bullying talks at schools, lessons at town day camps, private lessons, corporate events and women's self-defense seminars. Through outreach we share the many life lessons found in the study of martial arts with the community. We have an incredibly flexible schedulewith classes six days a week that students attend as often as they like. New students are invited to try two weeks of free classes!
